Technical requirements for virtual classes

Zamn works on most operating systems, on computers, phones and tablets.

It runs right in the browser, so you do not need to install any app or tool on your device. All you need is a web browser.

Computer requirements

  • A computer with a dual-core processor and at least 2 GB of RAM.
  • We recommend an operating system that can run the latest versions of Chrome or Firefox.

Chrome and Firefox are the best browsers and give the most support for real-time voice technology (WebRTC).

Other browsers, like Safari and Internet Explorer, do not work as well, but they are mostly supported.

Mobile requirements

Android

Zamn supports Android. It runs right in the browser, with no app or add-on to install.

It needs Android 6 or later.

All Zamn features work on Android except screen sharing, because Chrome does not support this feature on Android.

iPhone (iOS)

Zamn works on iPhones in the Safari browser, with no app or add-on to install.

It needs iOS 12.2 or later.

Most features work on iPhones except screen sharing, because Safari does not support it yet.

Internet speed requirements

Guests (listeners)

We recommend an internet connection with at least 0.5 Mbit/s upload speed and at least 1 Mbit/s download speed.

These are average numbers. They change with the time of the broadcast, and with other apps or programs using the same connection at the same time.

To test your internet speed, you can use: https://www.speedtest.net

Room owner (presenter)

Use the fastest speed you can, especially when you share your camera and desktop screen, because the presenter needs double the internet speed for that.
